本展從作者陳彥呈反省自己的身分出發,試著透過多個系列作品,討論當⽣命過程中⾯臨無法迴避的身分轉換時,自身如何使⽤攝影作為躲藏的⼯具,進⽽帶來複雜、斷裂、依存與衝突的多重關係,作者⽤自己與愛⼈的關係作為本次展覽的主軸,同時希望回應在社會環境的恆常價值觀、⽂化儀式下如何影響自我產生他者化所帶來的焦慮,並探討自我跟他人間的相互認同。

“一直以來攝影作為我探索自己,與自己提問與對話的工具,我以為能夠找到一些什麼,目前看起來似乎是完全相反的一件事。2016年我的女兒出生之後,我意識到那個長期干擾我的東西,我發現是”身分”所帶來的變化,曾經我認為攝影可以讓我躲到一個特定的身分之中,但似乎不是如此,相反的攝影更困擾著我原本的身分,攝影作為另一個對象,悄悄地躲進我各種身分的面具之後……”

Begin with the self-reflection on the identity of Chen Yan-Cheng himself, with theworks exhibited, the exhibition try to raise the discussion of how himself to hide from facing the inevitably identity conversions in life by means of photographing and it produces complex, disruptive, dependent and conflicting relations. Chen Yan-Cheng uses the relation between his lover and himself as the main theme of the exhibition. “After my daughter born in 2016, I realise the thing that bothers me for long, and it comes out to be the change that comes with my identities. I had thought that photography could let me escape into a specific identity, but it seems not. Instead, photography as another presence interferes with my original identity, it stealthily sneaks behind the masks of many of my identities……”
